I am currently working on deciphering Eukaryotic non-canonical Translation Initiation pathways as part of my MSc Thesis. My research interests lie in Molecular biology with a special focus on Gene regulation and Translational control.

Experience

Summer Internship at IISc Bangalore

June - July 2025

Worked under the guidance of Dr. Tanweer Hussain to investigate the role of eIF2A in mediating translation initiation during starvation-induced ER stress, using S. cerevisiae as an in vivo model and complementary in vitro assays with heterologously purified proteins from E. coli.

Summer Internship at NISER

June - July 2024

Worked in Dr. Pankaj V. Alone's lab on non-canonical translation initiation in Saccharomyces cerevisiae, investigating the roles of alternate initiation factors like eIF2A and Tma22 in recognizing non-AUG start codons.

Summer Internship at IISER TVM

June - July 2023

Interned under the guidance of Dr. Nisha N Kannan exploring the interplay between circadian rhythms and metabolism using Drosophila melanogaster as a model organism.

Genomics and Proteomics Workshop

Attended Two-day Workshop on Genomics and Proteomics conducted at IISc Bangalore by Edufabrica Institute as a part of Pravega Fest.
